Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using SignalNetwork.ai, claiming a Node, or interacting with any Signal Network service, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
These terms may be updated with notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
2. What the Signal Network Is
The Signal Network is a trust infrastructure platform operated by SignalNetwork PBC, a Public Benefit Corporation. The platform enables human users to document their reasoning processes through structured proofs, creating a verifiable record of judgment, decisions, and intellectual contributions.
The Signal Network is not:
- A social media platform
- An investment or financial services platform
- A credential-issuing authority
- An AI training data marketplace
3. Node Allocation
The Signal Network is limited to 999 founding Nodes. Each Node is unique, numbered, and non-transferable at this stage of the network.
- Nodes are allocated at the sole discretion of SignalNetwork PBC
- Claiming a Node does not constitute a purchase, investment, or equity stake
- Node numbers are assigned, not chosen
- Node allocation may involve a waitlist, application, or invitation process
No Node is guaranteed until confirmed by SignalNetwork PBC.
4. User Conduct
Users of the Signal Network agree to:
- Provide accurate identity information when claiming a Node
- Use the platform for its intended purpose: documenting genuine human reasoning
- Not submit AI-generated content as human-authored proofs
- Not misrepresent, impersonate, or fabricate identities
- Not attempt to manipulate, exploit, or reverse-engineer platform systems
- Not use the platform for illegal activity
Authenticity is the foundation of the network. Misrepresentation undermines trust and may result in Node revocation.
5. Proof Ownership and Intellectual Property
Users retain full ownership of proof content they create. The Signal Network does not claim ownership of your proofs, reasoning, or intellectual output.
By submitting proofs, you grant SignalNetwork PBC a limited license to:
- Store and process proofs within the platform infrastructure
- Generate cryptographic attestations and hashes for verification
- Display proofs to authorized parties per your visibility settings
This license is revocable consistent with the Privacy and Consent Policy.
6. Privacy
The Signal Network is governed by a strict privacy-first posture. All proofs and Node activity are private by default. Visibility requires explicit opt-in.
Full privacy terms are defined in the Privacy and Consent Policy, Visibility and Discovery Policy, and Data and Retention Policy.
Those policies are incorporated by reference into these Terms.
7. Platform Availability
SignalNetwork PBC will make reasonable efforts to maintain platform availability but does not guarantee uninterrupted service. The platform may be unavailable due to:
- Maintenance and upgrades
- Infrastructure issues beyond our control
- Security incidents requiring temporary shutdown
As a pre-launch and early-stage platform, features, interfaces, and systems may change. We will communicate material changes to Node holders.
8. Limitation of Liability
The Signal Network is provided as-is and as-available. SignalNetwork PBC makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or reliability.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SignalNetwork PBC shall not be liable for:
- Loss of data, proofs, or access
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Actions taken by users based on platform content
- Third-party conduct on or related to the platform
9. Termination and Node Revocation
SignalNetwork PBC reserves the right to revoke a Node or terminate access for:
- Violation of these Terms
- Submission of fraudulent or AI-fabricated proofs
- Identity misrepresentation
- Conduct that undermines network trust or integrity
Revocation will be communicated to the affected user. Users may request review of revocation decisions.
10. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms or use of the platform shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be subject to binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, conducted in the State of Connecticut.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
12. Contact
Questions about these Terms should be directed to: origin@signalnetwork.ai
13. Policy Supremacy
Where these Terms conflict with specific governance policies (Privacy, Visibility, Data Retention), the more protective provision controls.
